Last week, we had the privilege of hearing from the Ronald McDonald House Orange County, an organization that truly embodies compassion in action.
When families are facing one of the hardest moments of their lives — caring for a seriously ill child far from home — this incredible organization provides more than just a place to stay. They create a home away from home, keeping families close to their children and to each other when it matters most.
With nearly 400 houses worldwide across more than 60 countries, their impact is both global and deeply personal. Locally, their expanded Orange County facility now serves thousands of families each year, offering not just shelter, but comfort, meals, and a supportive community during difficult times.
What stood out most was their focus on family-centered care — ensuring that no family has to face a medical crisis alone.
Through opportunities like preparing meals, volunteering, or supporting events like Walk for Kids, our Rotary community has meaningful ways to get involved and make a difference.
Because sometimes, the greatest gift you can give a family… is simply being there.
