This past week, members of the Rotary Club of Huntington Beach had the unique opportunity to tour the Groundwater Replenishment System at the Orange County Water District. This amazing place is the world’s LARGEST advanced water purification system!
Wearing our bright orange safety vests, we explored the impressive system during a two-hour tour of this massive operation, and gained a deeper appreciation for how this innovative process ensures that Huntington Beach and surrounding communities have safe, drinkable water, which is scarce on this earth.
After our educational adventure, the group enjoyed a relaxing box lunch together on the patio — a perfect way to wrap up the day!
A huge thank you to our amazing program chair Gigi Kan for organizing this outing, and to long-time member John Baley for suggesting it in the first place. Rotary is all about learning, serving, and connecting — and this event was a wonderful example of that spirit in action!
