Rotary in Action: A Walk Through the Huntington Beach Urban Forest
This month, the Rotary Club of Huntington Beach combined fellowship, learning, and community appreciation during our lunch meeting with a special visit to the Huntington Beach Urban Forest.
After enjoying a delicious lunch and catching up on club updates, we laced up our walking shoes and stepped into one of Huntington Beach’s hidden gems. Guided by local urban forest advocate from the HB Tree Society Jean Nagy, we explored the lush greenery, learned about the vital role urban forests play in combating climate change, and discovered how this space serves as a haven for both wildlife and our community.
Walking among the trees, we were inspired by the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.” Seeing how intentional care and effort have transformed this urban area into a thriving natural oasis reminded us of the power of collaboration and stewardship.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unique meeting! If you haven’t visited the Huntington Beach Urban Forest yet, we highly recommend taking some time to explore this incredible space.
