At our recent Rotary Club of Huntington Beach meeting, we were honored to welcome representatives from the Be Well Mobile Response Team, an innovative program (that started as a result of our health crisis during COVID) providing compassionate, field-based care for community members experiencing mental health crises, substance use challenges, or welfare concerns.
Operating throughout Orange County — including right here in Huntington Beach — the Be Well team partners with local law enforcement, emergency services, and city departments to deliver non-police responses to mental health and wellness calls. Their mobile units bring licensed clinicians and trained crisis counselors directly to those in need, ensuring individuals receive timely care, support, and connection to vital community resources.
Their mission embodies the heart of Rotary’s Service Above Self — meeting people where they are, restoring dignity, and building pathways toward healing and stability.
We’re proud to highlight the Be Well Mobile Response Team as one of our Partners in Purpose, recognizing their outstanding service and the positive impact they continue to make in Huntington Beach. Unfortunately, the program is at risk due to their current contract with our city expiring soon! The numbers they presented to us were undeniably worthy of making this team a permanent fixture in our city (and all over our county!).
