Partner Spotlight: Sandy Feet Initiative

Rotary Stories

At a recent Rotary Club of Huntington Beach meeting, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mo Langley, founder of The Sandy Feet Initiative—a truly heart-centered organization creating space, joy, and community for a group that is often overlooked: the siblings of children with special needs, disabilities, and chronic illness.

As we head into the holidays and look ahead to 2026 (how did that happen so fast?), Sandy Feet Initiative is preparing to celebrate an exciting milestone—eight years of honoring and supporting these incredible siblings. Through beach-based and outdoor programs, Sandy Feet gives siblings a chance to simply be kids: to connect, play, and feel seen alongside others who understand their unique family journey.

This past year marked meaningful growth for the organization. In addition to their beloved beach programs, Sandy Feet Initiative expanded to indoor sibling programs at rare-disease conferences and special outings like a visit to the Irvine Regional Park Zoo—bringing their mission to even more families in new and creative ways.

Looking ahead, collaboration is a big focus. Sandy Feet Initiative will be teaming up with Waves of Impact and The Shine Project Foundation in the coming year, further strengthening their impact and reach within the special-needs community.

We are grateful to Mo Langley for sharing her passion and for reminding us how powerful it can be to meet families exactly where they are—often with sand between their toes and smiles on their faces. Rotary Club of Huntington Beach is proud to spotlight and support partners like Sandy Feet Initiative who are making waves of compassion right here in our community.
